Parents of gifted students and Mrs. Hughes, our GRT, will have a workshop on Tuesday, May 13 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in #36. Our topic this time will be “Self-Efficacy.” Reservation forms went home last week; they need to be returned by May 12.
Gifted identification testing for second grade students on hold as well as 4th grade students following a review of most recent SAT 10 scores, will be administered Thursday, May 22. The Eligibility Committee will make their decisions on these students at their June 5 session.

2008 Summer Enrichment Camp applications are now available! This 8-day educational program is for gifted and high ability students enrolled in VBCPS and currently in grades 2-5. It will be held from July 7-17 at Brookwood Elementary School from 9:00-2:00 daily. (Camp does not meet on Fridays.)
Parents are responsible for all transportation needs to and from home, the selected satellite bus site, and Camp. Carpools are encouraged. Tuition is $185 and is payable at the time of registration. Checks or Money Orders must be made payable to Virginia Beach City Public Schools.
Completed application forms along with the full tuition payment must be received in the Office of Gifted Education on or before May 9. In order to assure each student the best camp experience possible, the total number of students accepted will be limited. Submitting applications and tuition to a child’s school is not advised and possibly delay receipt of the documents.
