In the News
FROM THE MUSIC SPECIALIST
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be studying the Soprano Recorder again this year. Students may purchase a recorder for $3.00 if they do not already have one. The deadline to purchase is October 16th. Students are required to have their recorders during all music classes. Parents, please encourage your children to take their recorders home for practice and then remember to bring them to class on their designated music day. Thanks for your continued support of the music program.
FROM THE ART ROOM
Please remember to recycle items to the art room for our daily use! We need newspaper, plastic tubs with lids, baby food jars with lids, baby wipes (for quicker clean-ups!) any leftover craft items such as buttons, lace, fabric etc.
Thanks for your help with this!
FROM THE GIFTED RESOURCE TEACHER
Hello Thunderbird Families,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Hoggard, and I am the new Gifted Resource Teacher here at Indian Lakes! I am thrilled to be here, and have been welcomed with open arms by both the staff and students! I would like to share a few important upcoming dates with you, as well as my contact information.
This fall begins fifth grade and first grade screening for gifted services. Please understand that these screenings are an ability test and there is truly no way to study. The best thing for your child is a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast the morning before the test. Please ensure that your child arrives on time that day and is not absent, unless he or she is ill! Thank you so much for your cooperation.
Fifth graders will be screened on Friday, October 9, 2015.
First graders will be screened on Friday, November 6, 2015.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
FROM THE CAFETERIA MANAGER
If your child/children qualified for the free and reduced lunch program last school year, please fill out and return the new lunch form for this school year. Your child/children's eligibility will expire on October 19, 2015. If a new form has not been processed by October 19, 2015, your child/children's meal status will change to "Full Price". Lunch will be $2.75 and breakfast will be $1.40.
Every household should have received a form in the mail. Each year a new form must be filled out in order for your child to qualify and receive the free or reduced price lunch. You may also visit the Food Service website and complete a form online.
If you have any questions or to check on your child's eligibility status, please call the cafeteria manager at 648-2689.
